New-estate aggregate country.

The Wyong, Tuggerah and Warnervale growth areas have boomed with new house and land packages, and the driveway of choice on those blocks is exposed aggregate. It looks great fresh from the builder, but the original seal wears within two to four years and then the surface dulls and dusts. A huge part of our Wyong work is refreshing those builder-grade aggregate driveways with a proper wet-look or matte reseal before the matrix starts shedding stones.

The Wyong valley and reactive clay.

The flatter ground through the Wyong River valley and Kanwal has pockets of reactive clay that swell and shrink with the seasons and open hairline cracks in driveways. Sealing keeps storm water out of those cracks so the movement does not accelerate, but we are honest when a driveway is cracking structurally and needs a repair or a resurfacing overlay rather than just a seal over the top.

Humidity, moss and storms.

Set back from the sea breeze, Wyong driveways and shaded paths grow moss and algae readily in the humid climate, and the heavy summer downpours off the ranges and the Tasman keep them damp. We treat moss as part of every prep, and we time sealing to the dry weather window so the coat cures before the next storm cell. A seal applied to a damp Wyong slab blushes and peels, the most common failure we are called back to fix.
