Two housing eras, two driveway problems.

Gosford proper and the older pockets around East Gosford and Point Frederick are full of brick and weatherboard homes from the 1960s to 1990s, and their driveways are typically plain concrete or clay pavers that have never been resealed. Up on the Springfield and Holgate-side slopes the newer builds run to exposed aggregate. The first group usually needs a first-ever seal plus stain and moss treatment, the second needs the original aggregate seal refreshed before it chalks. We do both every week.

Brisbane Water salt air.

Gosford wraps around Brisbane Water, and the homes on the waterfront and the lower slopes sit in salt-laden air that drives chloride into bare concrete. We spec chloride-resistant penetrating sealers for those exposed driveways rather than the cheap solvent acrylics that break down in a season near the water. Sheltered driveways further up the valley can take a wider range of products.

Sloped driveways and the wet.

A lot of Gosford is built on slopes running down to the water, so steep driveways are common, and a steep sealed driveway is slippery in the frequent rain. We build anti-slip coatings into most Gosford sealing jobs, targeting a P4 or P5 wet-pendulum rating so the driveway stays safe in a downpour.
